This means getting rid of any excess knowledge that doesn\u2019t quite help them come to a conclusion or solution to a topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTPs, on the other hand, take in all knowledge no matter whether it helps them or not. They don\u2019t really see any information as being \u201cuseless\u201d the way INTJs do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And this means they can hold on to excess and have a harder time making decisions, whereas INTJs are very decisive people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Making_Decisions\"><\/span>2. Making Decisions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019d think with the way both of these personality types take in information that they\u2019d have similar decision-making processes, but that\u2019s not the case here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTJ vs INTP, in the case of making decisions, are very different personality types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTJs tend to go through all the facts and make logical, analytical decisions based on what we know. We also do so confidently and rarely go back on what we decide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only that but our decisions are also made rather quickly. We\u2019re able to take the information, process it, and come to a conclusion fast \u2013 which plays to our problem-solving traits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTPs, on the other hand, are very poor at making decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because they hold on to so much information, they weigh the outcomes heavily. This often causes them to go back and forth with what they should decide, making it difficult to actually <em>choose&nbsp;<\/em>something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To an INTP personality type, a decision isn\u2019t final, as INTJs think. Unlike INTJs, INTP personality types always see a decision as flexible, able to change if they so choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Leadership_Roles\"><\/span>3. Leadership Roles<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019d think with what we know about INTJs and INTPs that both would be equally as suited for leadership roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re both knowledgeable, creative, and hardworking (provided the timing is right for the INTP), so why is it that INTJs make far better leaders than INTPs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTJs are actually far better suited for a leadership role, even though we\u2019d never actually ask for one. INTPs are similar in the sense that they don\u2019t want to be a leader, but that\u2019s really where their similarities with this trait end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because <a href=\"https:\/\/intjsecrets.com\/blog\/intj-istp-relationship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">INTJs are highly organized, analytical, and decisive<\/a>, others see us as sound leaders and actually prefer we take the lead. And while an INTJ would do great in a leadership position, we don\u2019t often enjoy it and would rather take on a project alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTPs aren\u2019t seen as very leader-like simply because of their flexible, spontaneous nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They don\u2019t appear to be nearly as responsible as INTJs due to their whimsical qualities, even though they are responsible when it counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Making_Plans\"><\/span>4. They love knowing exactly what will happen and when.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This helps them function happily and orderly, which is something they really can\u2019t live for long without while staying sane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.harvard.edu\/gazette\/story\/2022\/01\/logic-or-emotion-which-is-more-valuable\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/news.harvard.edu\/gazette\/story\/2022\/01\/logic-or-emotion-which-is-more-valuable\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INTJs think very logically<\/a> about the steps we need to take in order to get a task done or reach our goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTPs, on the other hand, behave very differently. They tend to go with the flow and rely more on their gut instinct than through planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They never really have a plan for anything and let life guide them on their journey toward a specific place or goal. It may seem like it would never work out, but because of an INTP\u2019s ability to take conceptual thoughts and turn them into complex ideas, it does work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s just wildly different compared to how an INTJ would approach a situation. In fact, the INTPs methods would drive us INTJs nuts after a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neither could live with the other\u2019s process when it comes to planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Structure_and_Order\"><\/span>5. Structure and Order<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>INTPs basically hate structure. They\u2019re not the type to stick with a set regimen or do well with one. As mentioned above, they\u2019re spontaneous and thrive on going with what life brings them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTJs thrive on structure and organization. It helps us make plans and decisions, and follow through with our goals in a detail-oriented manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hate not knowing what\u2019s coming next, and spontaneity really isn\u2019t in our vocabulary because of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many would look at an<a href=\"https:\/\/intjsecrets.com\/blog\/why-are-intjs-so-rare\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"227\"> INTJ\u2019s everyday life<\/a> and see it was well-structured. They would refer to us as organized and orderly, whereas INTPs would appear messy, all over the place, and lacking in direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INTPs need flexibility in order to maintain their sanity \u2013 even in the workplace.
